im sure he means the TH 350 trans, if i was going to buy one now for your app Id get the heavy duty (medium range) th350 from monster trans. i have a th400 in my bird built locally and paid nearly twice what those guys want.

. BTW, Pontiacs do not have a big block and small block.

I think that engine is going to be the BOP (buick, olds, pontiac) bolt pattern not the common chev. you can still get th350'* but they are less common.

i wouldnt get rid of that engine, if you cant find a BOP trans the BOP to CHEV adapter is only $58 on jegs. alot of people do the crate chev 350 swap cause its alot easier to get parts and perf goodies but i think its alot cooler to keep at least the visible parts old school.
