smell, I've noticed that also but it doesn't really look like that in person. But the tire is supposed to perform well in snow and rain(like I'll ever see that!) so perhaps they tried to make them somewhat knobby. I think I just invented a word! However, they ride smooth. I also have a Grand Cherokee with SUV tires on it and so I know what knobby(copyright) tires can sound like.

Yeah, I figured that. That one pic kind of gave it that look. The channels in those look mean.
