that dont sound right, you try taking the belt off and start it quick to see if its ac compressor or ps pump?

I don't know how to test any of that I have no engine tearing apart experience ill try and figure it out this weekend we are taking it apart I know it has a cracked head I was told it has a rod knock that'* about all I know I haven't tried anything yet as I have no time

i just meant take the serp belt loose and start it, if the noise is gone its something that rotates with the belt. if not its in the engine. if its got a cracked head and bad lower, i would think try to find a jy engine rather than mess with the one you have.

It stops when revved up that'* what'* confusing me wouldn't it still continue whille revving.

Connecting rod is probably "floating" while your revving it. LOL. Put it in drive, does the noise get louder?
