Default New exhaust system installed

Well my trouble started yesterday when my muffler fell off from the main exhaust pipe due to severe rust of the pipe. Luckily my emergency kit had a roll of tape so I tape it back on and it got me home. Once home I pushed the muffler back into the pipe and with a combination of aluminum foil, duck tape, and plastic foam I taped the pipe up enough so that it would make it to the muffler shop (BTW duck tape fixes anything ). I borrowed the clamp from the air filter tube to give extra support. To keep things short, once I got to the shop this morning the old pipe was so rusted that all I could do is replace it.

All I can say is WOW what a difference . My car is so quiet now and I have gained lots of horsepower . The car was so quiet I made a mistake and tried to start the car up after the mechanic had already done it for me : . Even though my muffler was new (dealership installed) that pipe was horrible. All this time I thought the reason my car struggle to speed off quickly was due to age. Hopefully I will gain some fuel economy .

I'm not too familiar with the 88-91 Bonnevilles but that looks like it'* hanging down. My 99 SE is tucked up out of the way.

Yes, its hanging too low. You might have problems going over speed bumps.

I agree last night I took a good look at it and it is not hanging too low. He actually raised it compared to the original system. I notice the exhaust on these models hangs like that compared to the newer models

Just wait. Yours will sag too unless you get some fresh rubber grammets. The pipes on all of the Bonneville'* we've owned sagged with higher mileage.
