My Current 1989 SSE
That'* a negative on the moon roof, and the leather seats. But everything else is in running condition, even the inboard computer, which I was surprised at after 20 years.
The roof has some Extreme fading, so im thinking, find some chrome molding for the rear pillars, and strip and paint the roof a black, give it that cloth top look, and then probably paint the wing black too. plus i scored a full set of rims and tires out of a junkyard off of a 90 bonnie. the gold wirey looking things. they had amazing tread for a junked car. i also have a rim, yes a single rim, from a black 89 sse. im thinking if i find another 3 ill try and tread them up too. the interior is generally unchanged. one of the frirst owners pulled the stock deck out, and replaced it with his own. i then ripped that out and put in a deck of my own. I now have a 400 watt amp and two speaker boxes with 2 10" subs. Mechanincally nothing major, once i get some money, im going to dual the exhaust, but not too much beyond that, do a full tune up, replace the plugs and wires. ive already replaced the alternator. and if she gives me the same buggy start that my red one had, im going to have to replace the starter too.
very nice ride i've never seen a gold one before... and yes they are pretty peppy for what they are. i can say they stick with 90% of the cars off the line but in the long run i've been beat by some newer cars... for example the newer 3.5l toyota avallons, i stuck with him in first gear but then he started pulling... anyway thats what my ssei is for... my 91 is my baby now and she is for looks, i try to take the best care of her i can and hopefully will have her for a long time to come....
plus the ride is soooo much more comfortable in the 91 she is the highway cruiser...
