I cleaned up my '96 today
I'm not so sure man. Either you are being WAY too hard on your car, or the pictures do a horrible job of picking up the imperfections, cause that is one fine looking unit you got there.
I honestly thought it looked better after looking at the multiple pictures instead of just the single one earlier.
That car is awesome. The rims look to be a different shade of gold (lighter, and more gloss) than my 1995 SE SC and my brother'* 1997 SSEi.
My guess is the problem you are referring to with your headlight is the chrome reflector is de-laminating. A common problem. My 1999 SSEi had that problem, my 1998 SSE had the problem, my brothers 1997 SSEi has the problem, and I saw a 1999 SE with 65k on it last weekend that had the same problem.

you guys are right the wheels need to be refinished due to tire jockey idiots hammering weights onto the outer lip. a static wheel rebalance with stick on weights is on the to-do list, as is a new hood bumper, polishing the exaust tips etc. there is a small chip in the LH headlamp lens, not sure it is getting condensation buildup in there or not.
the camera isnt the worlds best, its an old kodak easyshare 4.0Mpix that I just point and shoot with. i could get up close for detail shots but they wont come out too great. trust me, its no showroom stock cremepuff. more like an executive beater- i love it though. all the bells and whistles.

Oh, and here'* a tip for keeping the front wheels looking clean and shiney. Get some good (none of the cheap brands like Morse) Ceramic brake pads -the brake dust is there, but it'* translucent so you don't really see it and it doesn't build up as fast. Have to touch the rim to notice brake dust.
Keeps the wheels nice and clean for a long time. Well worth spending the extra $30 for good pads rather than having to invest 3 hrs of your sweat n blood every week cleaning the crosslace wheels.
