You can usually get carpet scraps from a carpet store for free, or like a buck. Good trick for the winter

Way to use your resources. Those commercial mats are tough and should keep your interior in top notch condition.

Great idea. And actually I think the black goes with the interior detail.
I, too, went for the towel option for winters when I had the bonne, but mine were navy blue with no attempt for any sort of matching. I think the mats look much much better (and actually would stay put).

That will work great to help keep those mats clean.

I work at a detail shop, so I've seen all sorts of things, and those mats are pretty clean compared to some of the crap I've seen. But, the nice thing about the detail shop is we have paper floormats that we put in the cars when we're done with them so we don't get the carpet dirty when pulling the cars out or delivering them or whatnot, so I just grab a new one of those every couple of weeks and its good. Its kind of like a plastic paper so it holds up pretty good to water. And if I do get the mat dirty, it takes me about 10 seconds to clean at the shop, then I just grab another paper mat and its not a problem. We have some plastic winter mats in the SSEi and those work pretty good as well.

$10 rubber mats from K-Mart have kept the carpet and mats dry and clean but are still slippery if snow and ice hit them. I really like that idea better though. Winter better be done soon though I hope.

Exactly! I have to agree with Jeanie- the mats look great and they bring out the detail in your interior. And since we're female, you can pretty much take that as gospel, right? Very creative- great job.

I needed it for the entrance way to my work so I purchased a large piece
(8 ft x 10 ft) from a carpet store and had some left over.
by the way I also did the back seat to match.
I suppose you could buy some at Home depot type of store. but I would
check a carpet place. maybe they will have some reminents.
