the purge clears the air from nitrous lines. so that when you go to inject it you aren't injecting air.

Definitely differnt.. wonder if it will affect paint over a period of time?

my guess is that it will. N2O is pretty f'n cold. When they heat up and cool down that one spot on the paint a lot my guess is that it will begin to crack.
