I'm not sure on the torq- but it seems it can move some mass..... Further research suggests Ford used a 5 speed Mazda transmission in these, which I found very surprising.

Mouse,
Times have changed. I had to pay rent (room & board) starting at age 13. Bought my first car at age 16, a $150 Mercury Capri. Upgraded to a $250 Chevy Elcamino. Learned a ton.
My Son is not motivated for his license or a vehicle or to even work. Yet he does whatever I ask him without complaining. Every time. Never gets into any trouble in school. Never asks for money or things. He is of a different cut from me- as my wife always reminds me when I get concerned about his lack of motivation.
In my Son'* case- hoping the vehicle will be a tool into responsibility and adulthood. Time will tell.

On the other hand though, if my parents would have told me to pay room and board at 13 I would have told them to get bent. I don't have to pay anything until I'm 18 because I'm your responsibility until then. Unless you're older and that'* the way was for all kids.
