My 86' Monte Carlo SS
To some of the questions,
No that is not the original motor. (However I still have the original in my possesion).
The stock motor was a 305 V8, which is the sorriest motor GM ever put in these vehicles. The original had 180hp and 200 ft. lbs. of tourque which is just sad.
This new motor is a GM Performance Parts Ram Jet 350 PFI crate motor. Brand new motor out the box!
Also:
Transmission from a Tahoe Police Interceptor
New Driveshaft
GMPP Engine and tranny computer
Currently working on getting 4-wheel ABS brake discs
The car was mechanically disassembled and put back together with ALL new wiring for the engine and tranny. The entire project was done at a dealership of whom I have a close bond with. They kept my Monte for almost 8 months, but I wanted it done right so "take all the time you need" I said. It'* finally on the road now and boy do I LOVE IT. The car has downright scary power
- everyone'* look when they ride shotgun

The newer (06+) however , look nothing like the originals ever did except tail lamps really.
OP: Very nice Monte Carlo. Even nicer motor
That sucka looks bad! I bought one last yr, same yr & model but I bought it just to fix it and sale it and that'* exactly what I did. I wanted to keep it but I needed the money. Mine still had the original engin in it; if it had the one you have I definately would have kept it. Here is the one I sold; all mine needed was minor body work and a paint job.

i love that Gen of Montes. My parents had a 85 White with Red striping and badging with grey interior. They bought it new in 85 and watched it come off the trailer to the dealer....
they sold it in 94 with only 9,000 miles, to the owner of a Very large Chevy Dealer that wanted it for his Personal collection
i really liked that SS
