Yes just fine although I had to get the gal and her five year old out of the car she popped a hole in my gas tank and her engine was still running. It funny what soap does for a little hole in a gas tank drove around for a while with it too. That is my bumper in her windshield also.

Many many years ago I was dating a girl. She drove a 1964 Ford Falcon. She got hit by a train that was going 60 mph. Considering how fast the train was going, the car did rather well. She survived the accident. I don't think the out come would have been the same with todays cars.
