Default Bye Bye Jeep, Hello Club Wagon

Well the '01 Jeep Cherokee I have been borrowing since November went back to it'* owner today. I spent all of yesterday cleaning it, waxing etc. I made the job especially hard being that I went on a minor excursion Friday night that didn't involve a paved road, or any road for that matter just a muddy open area. That was fun at the time but I payed for it yesterday, lol. The first thing dad said to me when I woke up Saturday was "Where did all that mud come from thats on the Jeep" lol.

I didn't manage to get any pictures of the muddy Cherokee but here it is after all the cleaning work:

Then it'* off to the other side of the James River, via the Ferry:

Dad drove the F-150 in case we decided not to take the ClubWagon, or if it broke down on the way back:

Now its time for a minor whoring of the new(to us) ClubWagon, my brother friend came over to check it out when we got back home and had some fun in the drivers seat.:

To begin with this is a huge van, then it got a 2 foot extension

The 5.8L 351. It runs decent enough, Alternator makes a bit of noise. It'll probably get a tune-up this week:

I took it for a spin with my brother and his friend, just around the neighborhood. We made it through the entire neighborhood until two houses before we got back to ours. Matt wanted to stop at his house and get his g/f to come out and see, and when we stopped it stalled Then it wouldn't start back up, so we pushed it about 200 feet to our driveway in which dad walked out and of course for him it starts right back up. The we went for another little joyride with us all in the van and came back home.

Did I mention the Van was free

Yeah, we will have some fun with it, though there is no plan on keeping it. This is just a beater for Dad to use while I take his F-150 to school. On the weekends I'll probably be driving the Wagon though...we'll see how that works out. Once my Bonneville is back on the road (Work on the project starts next weekend) we're gonna sell the van. Dad knows someone already looking for one.

I already found some free Bus Seats on craigs list, about a 30 minute drive from here

Got a question though.. it'* a 1984 small block with a vac advance distributor? When did Ford stop using a vac/mech distributor like that and switch to a computer controlled one? Also, are they points/condensor or does Ford have the equivelant to HEI ignition? (I gots lottsa Ford questions..looks like Booze and papa-Booze are the folks to ask )
