So Saturday me and my Mom ventured to Whiting Indiana (20 min away) to go to the Polish Bakery. Well while we were out there, we went to the lake. I love Wahala Beach. On clear days, you can see the Chicago Skyline. Saturday was one of those days. The bird was filthy, but I took pics anyway
This is the old polish neighborhood in Whiting IN

Alot of the roads are still brick

Great pictures Pearl. Chicago is one of my favorite places to view the city and skyline from a distance, yet not actually go into. But that'* form a trucke'rs point of view fearing all the low bridges more than the residents. ROFL. I had a bad inner city situation as a young man back in the late 70'* hauling a 52 foot trailer thats was 12'3" high.
i missed out on a good three trips to Chicago, still havent been.
