I just ordered a new tool box. I'm the type of guy that can't stand the thought of spending 2-5 thousand dollars for a tool box. I've even seen a Snap on mobile cart with only 2 drawers go for $1700 when I bought one with 4 drawers from Harbor Freight for only $150. You do the math. I don't know how some mechanics put food on the table.

So anyhoo. I was thinking of getting a $700 box from Harbor Freight. But I was at Lowe'* recently and kind of fell in love with this gleaming stainless thing of beauty....

It even has a built in Pioneer CD/MP3 stereo to crank out tunes.

Lowe'* should be delivering this tomorrow.

Nope, this is for work. I think 99% of my tools are at work now. Oh, for those that don't know, I've had a career change last month. No longer driving commercial vehicles, now I'm working on them at a Mack dealer here in town.

Wow. That is quite a box. Some things are worth the investment if it'* going to keep your tools safe.

What da fuq? Lowe'* isn't what they use to be when it comes to delivery. Just got a phone call and they said they can deliver Sunday. I said no, shop is closed on weekends. Then she said next option would be Tuesday. I said no. I'll come pick it up Saturday.

I think this particular store uses an outside contractor for delivery now. Unlike my store which is just a few miles up the road, but they didn't have any boxes like this one. I ordered this one from a store in Pennsylvania. Ugh. Oh well, not like I would have had time to play with it today. I'm always pretty busy in the shop.

It'* a nice box EXCEPT for the drawer handles. Expect them to come loose after a short while. That'* my only complaint with Kobalt boxes

Mike,

Very nice box, wish I could afford the setup.

Are you getting your 10% military discount?

Nice tool box Mike. I bought a 41" Homak yesterday off Craigslist for $250. Not as nice as yours but it will work well in my garage.

Mike, I wonder since you are now having to pick it up at the store, if they would be willing to give you a bit of a discount, considering your inconvenience..??

Nope delivery is free, so they don't consider it an inconvenience. The delivery is just considered an added bonus.
