2006 Pontiac Montana shuts off
My 2006 Pontiac Montana shuts off at times while driving. No warning. Just shuts off and will not start. Will not spin over. It says starting disabled. Just does this occasionally. Coast to a stop... wait 1 minute... and it starts back up and runs fine for another few days.
It will do it running 10 mph or 60 mph. I have removed the steering wheel and performed tap and wiggle test around column, BCM, ignition and other wiring. Could not get it to act up. I tried another key that was in better shape. Did not help.
I can unplug the key sensor and the car keeps running and the starting disabled light does not come on, or I can switch off while sensor is unplugged and if I turn the key fairly quickly, it will start up. If I wait 30 seconds it will not restart until I plug it back in. Looks to me like a faulty key sensor will not shut the car off.
