Default Need help with the air filter housing assembly

I had to change out the headlight bulb on the passenger side and had to take the air filter housing out to access the light. In the process I broke one of the tabs on part #4 in the pic and now after reinstalling it the foam gasket doesn’t make a tight fit (1-2mm opening at the top) for some reason. Had it out twice and it’* aligned over the press-in holes. Can I drive like this? Below is the pic of the part I would need to replace.

Yeah, it should seal all the way around. If I understand the problem correctly, you should be able to get some similar high-temperature foam at an auto parts store and glue it on.

Want to post some pictures of yours?

It looks like the gasket is in contact with the with the body after driving. Maybe driving helped the gasket expand with the suction.
In the second pic I circle the tab that broke. Should be okay or should I tape over where the tab was with tuck tape?

I understand now.

No big deal if the foam has a gap. It will suck a little bit of under-hood air, but very little.
