2005 5.3 Tahoe suddenly stopped on Freeway
2005 Tahoe w 200,00 miles on vortec 5300 engine. Driving on the freeway at night the engine died. Very tough to move the steering wheel. Towed to my house. Lights on dash remained on. To save the battery I disconnected the negative battery cable. Then learned that this removes engine code for diagnostics. Engine will not turn over when key is up.
Replaced the following:
- Battery (new)
- Ignition starter switch (new)
- SARVC Battery Control Module (from a reputable salvage yard)
- PCM (from a reputable salvage yard)
Engine still does not turn over.
Starter does kick in when I ran a wire from pin #87 on the starter relay to positive on battery though will not start. Seems that something electrical has disabled fuel relay.
- Installed a new fuel relay. No changes.
Mechanic tried to find the codes via high end OBD2. Scanner stopped everytime it got to 64%.
Mechanic tried a wired Bosch scanner. Scanner did not recognize the truck (Tahoe LT).
Strongly attached to this truck and don't want to send him to the salvage yard. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Who did the work of replacing all these things? Any actual testing been done?
You seem to think it'* fuel related. Did you test pressure with KOEO?
Who replaced the PCM? Did they program it?

. . . and: It quit while driving, and now the starter also will not attempt to do anything unless you run a wire to the solenoid?
How are the battery connections?
Have you checked fuses?
Any recent maintenance?
Any recent trauma?
How many miles have you owned it?
How old is the battery?
