01 Pontiac AZTEK wont Start- Read this- Help!
01 Pontaic Aztek. Ran great. Sat overnight. Went to start it in morning and It it wouldn't start.
Had the car jumped to see if it was that. No luck.
Battery looks new. With a voltmeter and car off it reads 12.12v on battery.
11.83 from starter to battery while car is off..
Inside the car, I turn the key, Nothing happens, I hear the fuel pump, a relay on inside of car, and also hear relay in engine bay.
There is no cracking, or anything. Moved connections to battery and nothing.
Think I have a faulty battery? On the dash, there is a red Battery symbol on the display too.
Let me know asap, if anyone knows, trying to fix this for a friend.
Thanks

Check the date on your battery, if it is past 5 years, time for a new one.
For testing you can have someone hold the tester on the battery and try to start the car. See if it has a big dip in voltage, could be a bad cell.
The battery symbol in the display is just telling you the engine is not running to charge your battery.

battery is 3 years old. Had it tested at autozone, came back ok. They recharged it to make sure it was strong. there is no Dip in voltage.
This it terrible, idk what the hell is wrong with it :(

first test the purple wire on the starter, if you have 12v when someone hits the key the starter is bad. then there some fuses i would check those next, then pull the relay and make sure you have 12v on v3 and v1, and when you turn the key to run you get a ground signal on w1. let us know what you find

Thread revive
hey there, since OP kind of just disappeared and never responded again thought I'd revive this thread (hopefully)
so if I dont get any reading of 12v on v1 or v3 what should I check next?
my starter is good (pulled and tested at the parts store 3 times)
my body control module is good (sent off to a diagnosis facility)
my PCM is good, its brand new and programmed successfully (no security lights etc)
And my ignition switch is good (brand new)
