2003 Buick LeSabre 3800 engine

I recently replaced a footlong section of rubber hose on the power steering lines. While I had it jacked up I added fluid and turn the steering wheel back and forth many times to get the air out of the line.

While driving the car when I slow down to make a turn into a driveway or at a stop sign the power steering doesn't seem to be working very well, very hard to turn.

Any ideas of what this might be?

What else to check?

Did you top it off after purging? Did you do at least 20 full stop to full stop?

How many miles on it?

Why?

Pressure or return hose?

Did it run dry?

Did it make bad noises?

How long did it run dry and/or make bad noises?

I'd guess it is a worn out and/or damaged power steering pump.

Was it doing this before the hose replacement?

Is the pump making any noise at all now?

Was working fine. 170k miles

I had a small lieak, seeping, drop once and a while.metal section was rusted,
so I put a section of rubber hose in to replace it.

Topped of the fluid, trurned the steering back and forth, wheels off the ground, to get air
out ot the line.

It could be a tired power steering pump. They usually moan about their job in parking lots though.

When you turned your steering back and fourth, the engine was running, right?
