What is that weight on the passenger side that wraps around the motor mount,mine is off the car now,is it needed?

I dont have a pic of it..the weight is at home..im not..lol..it could be just on 03 models..

there is the weight wrapped around the mount on the outside of eng compartment

That is a capacitance reluctor. Without it the front right wheel will occasionally spin in the opposite direction it is supposed to. The good news is it does not actually have to be installed to work. You can just keep it in the glove box and it will perform the intended function.
