Default sway bar interchangability

Got the drivetrain in my 99 regal gs swapped out. But before I put the axles back in I need to find a new sway bar. Both ends are broken right where it bolts to the endlinks.

So are they regal specific? Or will a grand prix bar work as well? Are there diferent diamaters? Are there any performance options? I will probably grab one from the boneyard this weekend unless there is an aftermarket performancereplacement for under 150.

The same year grand prix sway bars should fit, if you cannot find one from a junk yard, then for 80.00 you can get the Dorman one fropm RockAuto.
DORMAN Part # 927100 -- Includes end links and bushings, center brackets, bushings.
Amazon has it cheaper. 68.00

The only performance ones I know of are the Adco ones, but there may be other manufactures.

Any W car sway bar should would no problem but like stated above, I'd avoid getting one from the junk yard. I'd look into one of the aftermarket ones if anyone has ever had any experience with them, the factory ones are garbage, constantly changing them at the dealer.

Thanks for the replies. After a careful examination of the stock one and how little corrosion is on it, i am sure i will buy a new one. The tabs on the ends failed almost like they were "booger welded" onto the bar. They were not actually welded on, but there is definately a design flaw there.
