87 Caprice speedo gear help
I have a 87 Caprice wagon with a Olds 350/TH200-4R combo. I recently replaced my diff gears with 4.10'* from 2.73'*. Now I need to replace the speedo drive gears in the trans. I got the drive gear that is on the governor out, but am having trouble removing the speedometer housing to get the driven gear out. Does anyone know how to do this or have any tips? It seems to just be a pressure fit with an o-ring, but I don't want to break anything trying to pry it out. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

They oxidize in the trans case!! I have a tool that attaches to a slide hammer and screws onto the adapter housing that gets them right out....when they trans is on the bench. I do not know if there would be enough room to use it with the trans in the car.
