Default 2001 Tranny Issue

Hi All,

Last August, I bought a 2001 Bonneville SE (Lt. Bronzemist Metallic) with 45k on it. The car is good so far. However, it does have some quirks to it which I am hoping that you guys can help me with.

As for the quirks, about 3 months ago, when I back out of the driveway and put the car in drive for the first time most days, when I attempt to accelerate, the car will hesitate and then lurch forward. It only happens sometimes and for the first drive of the day. I have not changed the tranny fluid and filter. However, the fluid is a nice red color and full when checked. Otherwise, the tranny shifts fairly well. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

I would do the trans service. Add a bottle of Lucas no slip in place of one quart of trans fluid.

An easy way to help yourself get motivated is to wipe that nice red fluid on a white cloth or paper towel..it'* not as clean as it looks on the stick.
