Default possible trans problem

I have a 99 not super charged if you hammer it off the line you get a side to side motion in the steering wheel and a clunking in the front end anyone else as well as on the highway as it shifts out into a higher gear the thing shutters

Check your engine and transmission mounts.

Also please add your year and trim of your vehicle to your signature line. That way when you start asking questions in other areas of the forum, we all have a better idea on how to assist you. Click on "Quick Links" above, go down to "User Control Panel" and then click on "Edit your Signature" It'* pretty straight forward from there.

Check your trans mounts as well as your CV axle for any play.

Also, congrats on being our 15,000th member.

I thought that at first, but that don't explain the clunking sound.

Try a tranny fluid drain, filter replacement and new fluid. See if that makes the shimmy go away. I'm not yet ruling out a mount though.

I wouldn't do a flush though. If you have an issue it could make it worse. Just a fluid and filter change
