possible trans issue

just happen on my way home from work cant remember if it was going into 3 or 4 but it was taking for ever to **** my rmps were up then it shifted really hard and seemed to be running weak. i dont think it was slippng but i could be wrong my service engine soon light came on though any ideas

Best thing is to get that light scanned and know the code. Bring that back and we can give a much better diagnosis from there.

the trans is still not shifting right 3 going into 4 but the light went out so i guess ill just have to wait for something to break

just wondering, if anything is wrong with the trans will it send out a service engine soon light due to something wrong with the trans?

It depends on what problem the trans is having... It will for some issues but not others... That doesn't mean that it hasn'r already stored a code tho... It can store a Code without setting off the engine Light

the only thing is even if i use the info in the tech info i still don't know what i'm looking for when i'm "trying to read codes". since i have a 92 a regular scaner wouldn't work.
