well i have a 2003. that doesnt look like mine. i replaced it a lil while back cuz i was hearing the lil clunk going from reverse to drive and now i hear it again and know its bad. it was similar to that 1 but it had a threaded rod through the hockey pucks and some spacers. i'll post up a pic of my old mount soon. there has to be some fix to this problem. i know im not the only newer SSEi pushing more then stock power. and these stock mounts suck. how have others dealt with this? i do remember Silverbullet was decently modded. he have stock mounts? thanx guys.

alright guys. and yes the front one was the one i was talking about. this is wut is happenin. i'll have more details on monday when it happens. im getting another stock mount because the stock mounts are liquid filled to absorb all vibration for a luxury car and i dont want to sacrifice the smooth idle and ride. this place by me called B3R racing is gonna make a brace type solution. welding in a brace( like a swaybar endlink type deal with bushings on both ends) so that the engine is stopped from twisting back far enough to blowout the mount. the idea being at idle and not flooring the car i will have the performance of the nice stock mount. but at WOT the brace will stop the motor from twisting back too far for the mount to handle and blow it out. it would be welded on to the top of the mount bracket itself and the frame bar right below it. i wil get pics and stuff when im there on monday.

quick question b4 i get pics up. those who have seen and know the front tranny mount. you know how the mount is kinda cylindrical with threaded rods coming out the top and bottom. well one side has a solid metal part and 1 side doesnt. is the metal part supposed to be on top or bottom when on the car? ...they made a nice 90degree angle bracket with 2 holes that attached to the bracket that is on the tranny. the 2 holes are for the bolts on the bracket to attach it. then there is an angle bracket welded on the subframe bar below it. there is then a hole in both brackets with a bolt through connecting them and a poly bushing on each end of the bolt in between the head/nut and bracket metal. ..............but ya i thought the metal part of the stock mount was on the bottom by the frame bar, and the part with just rubber is on top attached to the tranny bracket. did they put it on backwards or am i just mixed up?
If you had asked that 2 days ago I would be able to answer you for sure. I just put the hockey puck mount in my 02. IIRC, the metal part was on the top. Also, I think the bolt coming out of the bottom was a lot longer, but that would be hard to see while it'* installed on the car. I'm assuming this because I looked at my old mount, and the metal part is on the side with the smaller bolt. The threads on the longer bolt don't extend all the way to the mount, and the metal bracket coming off the tranny bolts snugly to the top of the mount, and the threads don't seem to come close enough.
Like I said, I'm guessing here but when looking at my mount it looks to me like the metal part was on the top.
The only problem I've been having is I keep blowing out the rubber bushings on the hockey puck mount. I'm gonna try some rubber washers instead and see if they hold better.

ok. finally. heres some pics if any1 cares to see. i been busy doin a bunch of little things here and there on the car and takin summer classes. i painted it black with rustoleom last night so that bottom bracket doesnt look like that no more. but ya as u can see there is a nice poly bushing between the top part bracket and the spacer/head of the bolt. then that bottom part has the same poly bushing in between the bracket and spacer/nut. so as u know when the top of the engine leans toward the passenger compartment while accelerating(when looking at the drivers side, engine twisting clockwise), this limits the movement in that direction. and as u can see, the bracket on top was made with metal on each side and an angle added on the arm for support, but the bottom one is like a little box with support on all sides.....oh and thanx. the metal part was on top and is correct. i took ur word for it and then checked on ALLDATA while at school today to double check....lmk wut u guys think.
