Well, after discovering my car has a fuel door lock last night and wondering why it doesn't work, I got the following results:
I took the unit apart and managed to get the the pin to come out and say "hello." It retracted normally when I hit unlock on my key fob but would not come back out again. I lubed it and it would pop out and retract one or two times. It'* almost as if it'* getting caught on something. I can hear and feel it trying to release and spring back out. With only 26K on the car, I'm surprised it doesn't work--heck, it didn't even work when I got the car with 13K miles. Common failure?
Any ideas?
Thanks.

i have heard people mentioning that theirs is intermittent, as mine is as well. i never want to spend the time on such a useless (imo) feature... I have heard that re-lubing them yielded good results for others

I'll keep messing with it.
