Default Fuel door lock on 2000 SSEi

About 2-3 weeks ago I bought a 2000 SSEi. I went back to the local Pontiac dealer that I bought the car from to have them complete the "due bill" that was written at the time of purchase. One of the items to be fixed was the lock on the fuel door. After sitting in the customer lounge for 45 minutes, the service manager comes out to me and says that my SSEi doesn't have a lock on the fuel door.

I took him out to the car. There is a little plunger with a little piece of plastic that is supposed to lock the door when you press the "lock" button on the factory keyless remote. I tell him about the two little wires that are hooked up behind this lock mechanism on the fuel door. I continue to tell him that the car has it. He says that they looked the car up via the VIN and their information says the car didn't come with it, so they don't have to fix it (sometimes I just hate car dealers).

This is the 5th Bonneville I've owned and the SE typically doesn't have a locking fuel door. Every SSEi I've had, had this lock.

My question is this: For those of you who own a 2000 or newer SSEi, do your cars have the locking fuel door or not? I plan on showing the posts to the Pontiac dealer. Thanks in advance for your time and posts.

Yes,

As far as I know all SSEi'* have the locking fuel door. You can your RPO codes in the trunk to see if it mentions anything about it.

Default Look in the trunk...

Yes, mine has the locking fule door also. If you look in the trunk on the driver-side there should be a manual release to pull to unlock the fuel door. It would be kind of hard to deny it has it if you have this release.

If an SLE comes with it, I would think the SSEI does.

I'm pretty sure it'* standard equipment on the 00+ SSEi'*. This service manager at the dealership needs to get off the playing dum game. (or is he really a dum@$$) He knows it has a locking fuel door. My SSEi has a locking fuel door.

I have the original 2000 Bonneville "Luxury With Attitute" promo kit complete with video that introduces the new Bonne. In the section of the full-color book entitled, "All About Bonneville" it shows the locking filler door as:

"FULL-FEATURE THEFT DETERRENT (INCLUDES CENTRAL UNLOCK AND FUEL-FILLER DOOR LOCK)". SE= A(Available); SLE= *(standard); SSEi= *(standard).

Case closed. The dealer is either ignorant, idiotic, stupid, or just a cheat.
