Default CALM DOWN

This is my first time joining a car club, and if I didnt hve the love for my Bonneville that I do, I would leave. This is all due to the way I have been teated when I ACCEDENTALY brought up an old topic, or when I TYPED EVERYTHING IN CAPS LOCK. I'm not trying to be rude, but I think when we are all trying to help each other out, with our very valuble info, insted of posting someone back sternly telling them somthing, sometimes rudley telling them somthing, just change it to a comment that will not make them want to leave. The Bonneville Club is better than any other club that my buddys are on, so hooraa to the makers/owners, and thanks for this club.

NA I have been in that boat many times since joining 4 months ago and take it with a grain of salt. The moderators here are very busy and used to handling politically incorrect users like me, still devoloping social skills themselves, and have a hard time keeping up with the growth and depth of the club has attained.

And it seems nobody holds a grudge for long here. i've been in and out with Admins. since day one and won COTM for May. So just relax and settle in bud. The club as a whole is filled with alot of great people! And I'm sure no moderator meant anything to you personally. You have to remember there using your faux paux as a reminder to others, not just singleing you out.

Alan, sorry you feel that way. it'* just that we see it happen a lot.
a new member looks through all the old post and se'* something that intrest them
so they post a reply.
it throws us off sometimes thinking it is a new topic.

its not your fault or any noob for that matter.
it happens. so we (Moderators and Admins) have to ask you
that you not dig up old post. eventually new members catch on.
and all is well.

we would prefer it if the new member would start a new topic and
maybe give us a link to an old thread if it has intrest to what you may want
to ask.

were a good group here. dont give up on us yet.

Alan..

As others mentioned...I am also sorry you feel that way.

Personally I believe it might be the way you are wording your posts. I just read on in 00+ about brake adjustment that made me think again about this post.

This wording didn't seem well thought out and looked to be a question from someone that wouldn't open a manual to find their answer. While I believe you do not intend the post to read this way...that is the way it read to me. Might be the difference in areas that we are from.

I for one am looking at your posts differently after reading this post and realizing you are not intending things to sound the way I was reading them. A suggestion might be to write a little longer post to convey your points/questions better. Many newer members find the longer the response the more information and learning they can get from it.

Glad you wrote this and I understand what your intentions are better than before.

Alan, you asked people to calm down in one topic that wasn't negative in any way.
I fail to see what you're talking about unless you give us examples and links. We are
a VERY respectful Forum, but it has to work both ways.

Typing all in caps is considered YELLING on every venue on the internet. It'* common
practice and courtesy not to do it. It will be pointed out each and every time you do it.

In addition, your choice of usernames may be the cause of some of the negativity you
are observing. It may be considered offensive to some, as we have a
non-discrimination policy on this Forum.

If you'd like to change it, PM me.

Posting complaints like this in public generally has a further negative effect. Consider
handling it offline with an Admin in the future.

I think a change would be cool dude(and a rare chance to do so), I understand your reasoning and Will'* but either way just go with the flow and I'm sure you will get settled here and enjoy yourself. Will can sound fatherly and thats his position , and does a great job. the Club has taught me alot about mutual respect and I'm still learning. Glad to have another Bonnie freak among us!

It is somtimes hard to show emotion online when your trying to convey your message. May I suggest the smilies :?:

If you toss them in here and there, it will give others the impression that your trying to portray.
