Default Write down reason why it'* locked or moved.

Most of the time, when a thread is locked, there'* no reason but sometimes some of hte guys put in a reason. I would like for every future locked thread ( ) to have a reason. Also if it'* moved, it would be nice to have a reason for the newbies because I've noticed that many newbies put it in the wrong category and it would be good for them if the admins/mods KINDLY tell everyone in a post why it has been moved. Again, some admins/mods do this but should be done on every one.

Just a idea.

I strive to make sure all the newbs are well aware of why we move a thread and also leave a shoadow topic in the original area. Some of the veterains should know why we move a thread. I have seen nothing but "kindness" towards members when a thread is moved. Once again though, if you are a vet and have been told before, we have just cause to become a more frustrated.

As for locking threads, in every thread we do lock, there is always an explanation.

Is there a particular case you need us to look into? What brings this up?

Also, some threads are moved or locked for very obvious reasons which require no explanation.

Oh guys don't take this the previous post that I made as a "upset" kind of post, it was just a friendly suggestion (just you know) Often I come across as uptight which I'm not.

I just thought about that newbie, I can't recall his name but he asked about which cars had the L67 option and it was moved and he apologized to the mods. I do understand about moving or locking it and not leaving a reason if it'* super obivious. Plus Bill'* multiple threads has been moved and I'm confused why, some was in East Meet and it was moved to Lounge, why? :?: Sometimes, I can figure it out, sometime I can't. I thought it would help others.

Is this what you are refering to fuel?

If so, look at the guidelines under the Eastern US/Canada thread. I belive it goes along the lines of "Plan a meet in the eastern US/Canada here" This dosen't include "what illness you got after you went to this meet" That was simply lounge material and that is why it got moved. I'm sure boosty understands why it got moved. BUT, this dosen't mean you can continue to talk about that meet after it took place in the original thread.

Make sense?

Admins, did I state that right?

I moved that thread. Instead of publically bringing it to his attention that he started the thread in the wrong forum, I sent him a PM.

My thoughts on when/when not to leave comments when a thread is moved mimic John'* to a tee.

Thanks John Willwren, and Mark. Now I understand the logic behind the moving and locking and I better understand the reasons you took said actions.

You sorta said what I was thinking while reading this thread. Fuel, A LOT of stuff happens through the PM system. People get warned, things are explained, and people get in trouble through the PM system. Why? Its private
