I'm not talking about a set of spark plugs and some coil packs, or whatever...I'm talking about electronically tuning your timing and/or fuel curves, etc...

I see all of the aftermarket PCM'* are for newer cars. If a 95 Bonneville owner wanted to do some engine work and then actually tune it for the best results, how would they do it? Are there ANY alternatives, or any other routes to take to maximize any planned engine mods for best all around performance?

95 was the hybrid year, your car is neither OBD 1 or OBD 2, its kinda OBD 1.5....simply put there arent any PCM options except custom burn, and i think pretty much everything has to be custom, but it can possibly be done, not for sure on it though.

If you have a good scan tool to see results, you can use a Mini AFC to tweak your A/F ratio at a dozen or so points.

oh yeah forgot about the mini-afc but wouldnt it be hard to put a scan tool on his car? im sure its either and OBD 1 or 2 connector, but the rest of the system isnt full on either version is it?

You need a reader for OBD 1 that can handle the OBD 2 cable, I think.
