Default :?: :?: RADAR?!!??

What type of radar detector do you have and how do you know how far it will recieve?
The guy that sold me mine said he doubted if he knew that there was a diffrence as to how close the cop is before the thing goes off, so I bough the 45 dollar one hoping it was just beacause of minimal mods....

So is there a diffrenece and what type do you have?

I always use that one moron that just HAS to go faster than me. The best radar detector out there is someone with about a mile or 2 lead on you doing the same speed or faster....

Radar detectors are waaaay over-rated, since almost any brand out there can be easily defeated by police lidar (laser). Your detector won't pick up laser until the beam is pointed directly at you, and then you're caught. Just because it goes off doesn't automatically mean it saved you a ticket, but the manufacturer wants you to believe that so you'll keep buying them.

Laser is used in a VERY small percentage of police depts. I've seen figures under 1%, it'* expensive, and the usable conditions are MUCH smaller then the conditions you can use Radar in.

Bel Vector 940 in front, and a something else in back. Bel is the best I've owned. Cobra is crap. If you're budget concious and Bel is out of reach, look at Uniden, not Cobra.

Wow brothren, down here in missouri the police like to set up them fancy lazers on popular streets that I ride on, since it is crowded the Police like to shoot those fancy laser thing at allot of cars, so yeah my detector picks that **** up reall quick, it nice. Also I heeard that they are less accurate when there are 3 cars bunched togeather. But any heads up is better than no heads up is what I say. Yay! YAY that what I say.
