:?: :?: RADAR?!!??
I just thought that I would add that I am not immune to the occasional stop light blast or a spirited run on the interstate (in light traffic) to knock some ricer down a peg, but if I get caught, I was caught and the officer has every right to give me a ticket.
If you have a radar/laser detector it'* like a red flag to a patrolmen. You get pulled over, 95 times out of 100 you WILL get a ticket. It'* almost like saying, "I drive fast, that'* why I have a detector."
When I am driving over the speed limit, it is not with out others around me doing the same thing. I always like to have atleast 1 person going as fast (if not faster) ahead of me. If I see brake lights, then something is up, but if the other cars around me do not slow down, then what'* the point. The best police detector is the eyes of the people ahead of you. Now if you do a lot of driving on empty roads, then you don't have that luxury, but those deserted roads probably shouldn't be too well patrolled and it should be pretty easy to spot where the cops sit.

wow I had a post, that I posted like a few days ago, answering everything but it got deleted... any way yeah my freind DID get pulled over he or his parnets have the proof of that, uh yeah more than likely you buy a radar detector because you know you speed and you want to make sure that you are not caught doing so. Any way if I was pulled over, with my detector on then yeah sure I deserve it. And to whoever said this, I don't mess around on the highway bro just getting up to certain speeds quick is funner than getting to really high speeds in my opnion if that makes no sense ok, have a nice day and sorry for confusing you Ill take all your advice into carefull consideration next time IM out on the raod now. Thanks,

With my previous replies, I was in no way saying that having a radar detector is wrong or that you are less of a person for using one. If it makes you feel safer about exceeding the speed limit, then by all means get one (or two for both front and rear coverage). I was simply stating my opinion on them as was asked in the original post.
I posted this site before, they have a good comparison of detectors and lots of information. http://www.radarbusters.com/support/...ts/Default.asp
Fojokin...what part of Missouri do you live in...here in Columbia my BEL works wonders but I really watch what im doing when I go to STL or KC......other than that you should be ok with a medium good detector...my BEL will catch those "your speed is" signs around a corner and FAR ahead of when it is measuring your speed...even when I pass by the sign and the radar is going behind me facing the oppsite direction my BEL still picks up a good signal (measures like a 3-4 on the scale) I payed like 120 for mine from Circuit City
