Default 1997 PCM replacement information

A number of us have recently undertaken PCM changes in 1997 models thanks to INTENSE making one available.

I thought I'd post a bit of info to make the instalation as easy as possible and to make sure everyone gets the most out of their PCM. You will need to change over the Knock Sensor Module from your original PCM into your performance PCM.

Here'* a picture of the top of the PCM and the Knock Sensor access cover;

Remove the 2 Torx fasteners with a T27 bit (a T25 will also work if needed) and remove the cover. Now you can see the Knock Sensor Module, it'* black and sits in a white housing;

Grab the 2 white tabs on the side of the Knock Sensor Module and squeeze them together and then lift out the Module;

Here'* what it looks like with the Module removed;

This proceedure will enable you to have the most compatibilty for your Knock Sensors and will give you the most accurate reading for your 1997. Also, by doing this you will also be able to skip the Crankshaft Position Variation Learn Proceedure (CASE Learn).

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Cheers,
Oh, wow. I noticed you were only mentioning 1997. I wasn't aware that they did something for one year only. :?
