Hi,

About 2 months ago, i noticed that the Antilock(ABS) light started coming on while i was driving my 96 SE. It would come on intermittently, so i brought it to my mechanic, and said it needed a new front left Hub with the ABS sensor, because it was malfunctioning. So, i went with the cheapest one they had, which has the same warranty as the most expensive hub. The light never came on after he replaced the Hub and sensor, untill now. Couple days ago, i noticed while driving the ABS light came on. The next day it did the same thing. Yesterday, it didnt come on at all, but again it comes on while driving. I am wondering if this is the same sensor that went bad before. Or if it is totally a new problem. Is this a common problem with these cars? i spent 300 dollars to get it fixed before, and i really dont want to spend more. I can live with the light on, but id rather have the system working properly. Thanks for the input...

It'* probably your passenger front hub now. They typically fail within the same age of each other (just like headlight bulbs).

You can't diagnose ABS or Traction any farther than cleaning your hubs with a strong hose, and checking all your connections at the PMV and hubs (all 4). Otherwise, it'* off to the mechanic again.

I just got my 96 back from my mechanic, because it needed an oil change anyways.
He put the scanner on the car, and no new codes came up on the scanner. However, he said it had about 40 or 50 history codes in it. I dont remember them,but he said there were alot of history codes in it, which might mean that the computer needs replacing. It runs and drives perfectly, so it might be a computer problem. So, he cleared all the codes out of the computer and told me if the ABS light or any other comes on, to bring it in, so they can diagnose the problem better. So, i guess it had nothing to do with ABS, like before, because there was no new codes in it.... We'll see what happens....
