Default '98 Saturn SC2 Intermit. Wipers

Yesterday my Saturn started doing some strange things with the wipers. It starts out working just fine at the 3 interm. positions....then all off a sudden it starts wiping fast with about a 1/2 second delay.... it'll do this for about 20 seconds then returns to normal. IF you try to turn wipers completely off while doing the 1/2 second delay fast wipe it will continue to wipe for about 20-30 before stopping completely? Any ideas..... relay problem, switch problem?

Probably a controller issue. The only thing the wiper switch is, is a variable resistor that the controller sees changes and adjusts the wiper speed accordingly. Your issue seems to be more of a logic control issue.

Here is a video on removing the controller itself.
