1999 Bonneville Won't Start

I know it has been a while. Quick update;
Father in law got the car started. He did this by switching from park to neutral while bumping the key over and over. After the car starts you can turn it off and on about three times before you have to repeat the process over. Took car to mechanic. Lol.
