Default What to look for when buying a Gran Prix

Hey all,
I haven't posted here for along time (the sig says it all). Had a '98 N/A Bonneville which my brother now has. I'm looking to get back into a 3800, specifically a black 1998 Gran Prix GTP. The car has 120K on it. The owner says it runs fine but the CEL is on and it has a hole in the exhaust. I'm wondering if you guys can tell me what I should be looking for when I go to look at it on Saturday? What are common problems I should be asking about or checking for with this model?
Any guidance would be appreciated.

well from my experience on here you should be checking about the transmission. since the GTP and the SSEi have the same engine in it, the same problem should go along with the GP. the TQ from the engine just about wears down the transmission. more than likely your gonna have to get it rebuilt. especially at that mileage a few people on here have told me that thier transmission lasted till about 170K but it would be wise just to check it. other than that go to the techinfo section to see what else you would need to look for in buying a car

i think gps are junk, my windsheild whipers dont go down, its very cheap feeling everywhere, both my ball joints have gone out, and sometimes the blower resistor goes out and your heat works on high and thats it, that just dont feel as good as a bonneville, or some low end jap cars ive bought

check the passenger side rocker for rust, mine rusted stright threw
