Default Sunfire GT 2002 Defog problems

I have a Sunfire GT 2002 and the rear defog does not work, i know i have to get a new part but it is very cold and i don't want to go to the junkyard right now. i was thinking about bypassing the switch and make my own for now but i don't know what colors the wires are and i was wondering if anyone could help me.

Thanks

You mention needing a new part, and you allude to it being a switch.. can you give us more info. Maybe the diagnostics will help further.

do you know what the color of the wires are? i want to try and bypass. ohh and i looked in the driver side kick panel and there is this big green connector and i read that it over heats and the defrost cables melt but mine looked like it'* pulled out and I don't know if it is the problem so thats why i want to try and bypass to see if it works and if it doesn't then the connector is broken.

Any chance you can post up a picture? What wires do you need to know about? More info please.

well I figured out the problem, turns out that I didn't need a new part, the problem was at that big green connector I was talking about before, the wires were pulled out a little bit and they weren't connected so it didn't work so what I did was I striped the insulator on both of the wires (purple and black) and I connected them directly with another one now it works 100%.
