Default Stalls, Dash goes out

I think i might know what this is but looking for other opinions

What happens is it will stall at random. doesnt matter if its warm or cold outside. Dash goes dark and i hear a click usually. All other accessories stay on, for example if the radio is playing that wont even change.

When i put into drive or park and turn key into off and back on the dash doesnt light up. Usually what happens is the dash will light back up on its own then the car starts

I have found that the ignition control switch will sometimes cause this to happen. am i right to assume that may be the primary cause? Initially i thought it would be a ground or a bad crank position sensor but since all accesories stay on and i dont have other symptons of the crank position sensor going out (rpm drop to zero and ect) i thinks its more likely to be the ignition control switch

you could see if the battery terminals are corroded or loose, i have seen that before. but other than that sounds like ign switch.

terminals seem ok. i did have the battery and alternator tested though. alt tested good and battery tested bad. Is it likely to be a battery more than ignition switch considering the symptoms?

if the battery is bad it can cause weird issues, because it will be enough power for some things but not others. if it tested bad you are going to have to replace it. so if it still does weird things after then maybe its the switch.

clean the terminals too, with a wire brush or something, visual inspection alot of times is not sufficient

Battery is replaced, still stalls. didnt have a wire brush so i bought one to clean terminals. if that doesnt work what else could it be. i also noticed new things

Sometimes when i go to start it, it has the same symptons when it stalls. Dash is out but other electronics work (stereo/ac ect). And again when it stalls while driving the stereo and other stuff stay on, they dont even miss a beat. the dash just goes mostly out and itll start once dash lights come back up

When the dash does not light up, take the palm of your hand, and give the UBEC a whack(underhood fuse/relay center).....

Also when dash doesn't light, leave key on, engine not running, and check fuses in all fuse blocks...if if you find a couple of them with no power, it could be a leg from the ignition switch...

So its mostly possible that the ignition switch needs to be replaced? is that the next best bet possibly?
