Squeaky Tensioner Pulley.

Squeaky Tensioner Pulley.
I am trying to figure out a way to be sure what exactly is squeaking under my hood, I am fairly sure it is a tensioner pulley, it sounds like the sound is coming from between the alternator and supercharger snout, a few inches down.
I plan to take the SC belt off and see if the squeaking stops as I give it gas.
If not any idea how to be sure it is my tensioner, and not some other pulley?
I tried using my mechanics stethoscope on it, it did not help much, as I had nobody to increase the RPM'*.
Is there a way to do that from under the hood with a drive by wire setup?
I could easily do it at the throttle body with my 3800 II NA...
I guess I should have looked there, but I was not too worried about it atm, as I was working on something else at the time..
Which ever one it turns out to be will be replaced with a quality replacement, I have my eye on these.

Squirt WD-40 into each one until it stops.

Confirmed to be the accessory drive tensioner pulley.
I could see the belt move from side to side on that pulley, it barley moves but you can tell the movement coincides with the sound, and WD-40 quieted it a bit.
Looks like I'll be replacing that ASAP.

Started working on the car this afternoon, got the tensioner removed, and the new heater hoses in place at the firewall, getting the clamps off was a PITA, but there is no way I could have gotten them off without the hose clamp tool I bought, it was well worth the money!
**** broke off of the petcock, so I ordered a new one..
I still have to figure out how I am going to get the lower rad hose off, that will be the hardest part to do most likely, I may even have to remove the ICM and ICM bracket to better see what I am doing.
Unless I can get that clamp tool on the clamps..
Debating on replacing the waterpump since I have fairly easy access to it, I'll probably go ahead and do it just so I do not have to take everything off again later on..

Ya I had the same headache with the PA with heater clamps when I got the PA.
Clamp tool was a necessity, who install clamps facing rearwards anyways?
Glad you got tensioner off, that is tricky sometimes for sure.
One of the first things I did was replace waterpump with a Carter new one, at 80k miles.
Peace of mind on hwy trips is worth it, cause ya never know when one might crap out.
Good luck on the lower rad hose there William.

Yeah it was kind of stupid the way my clamps where clamped, then again I think they may have been facing the only way they could get them on and release them.
The tensioner came off pretty easy, of course the plastic coolant elbows broke, and I had to use a pick to get an o-ring out, and part of the plastic.
I will try to go ahead and replace the waterpump, but I really think I will have to get the ICM and ICM mounting plate out of the way, as I don't think I have easy access to all of the water pump bolts.
It will take a miracle for the lower rad hose, but at least I have a good hose clamp tool to try to get it off.
It will be a few days before I can get it back together as I had to order the petcock, and the o-rings that go on the heater core outlet/inlet.
I really should go ahead and do the LIM Gasket while I have so much already out of the way, but I really don't feel like doing that yet.
I am mildly worried I may end up finding out I need another part or something, it almost never fails that I end up requiring something else because something breaks, and I only have a week or so worth of groceries..
I could always take the tags off of the Grand AM and put them on the PA for long enough to get to the store and back, it is not too far away.
I really am just procrastinating because there is so much I am going to have to clean up, the LIM area looks pretty nasty...

Got to thinking, it looked like the tensioner pulley that goes to the supercharger may be in the way of me getting to the upper clamp on the lower rad hose, so I can remove that pulley and I should be able to get to that hose clamp easier.
The lower one is going to be a pain!
