New here. 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. For the past few months the blower motor has not been working in the car. It has the manual heat controls. I figured the resistor had gone bad or the blower motor had gone bad. I replaced the resistor, and nothing changed. I replaced the blower motor, and nothing changed. I read on another forum that the ignition switch can be the cause of things like the blower motor not working on speeds 1-5. I replaced the ignition switch this evening hoping to god that it would fix the issue. Still no luck. I am getting real frustrated with this car. I took the multimeter out and tested for voltage on both the HVAC CTRL Fuse and the HVAC HI fuse, and I get 0v on both with the car running. All fuses are good. I am getting 12v all the time to the blower motor regardless of speed on the HVAC Controls, but the motor never runs. I tested it on the bench and it works fine. Is there anything else that I can do before I just get rid of the car?

Well, there is no way you can have zero volts at the HVAC CTRL fuse and 12 volts at your blower motor....should not be using a voltmeter anyway, use a test light....

With a test light, check for power at the blower motor connector, on any speed but high...if you have power, then you have a bad ground....

I'll try that as soon as I can. Might be a couple days. Going out of town. I didn't think of the test light method. I'll try that. I was beyond confused when the multi meter read 12v at the motor plug. I don't know why anything pertaining to the HVAC side of things is not getting any power at all though.

Well this is going to make me sound smart, But replacing the motor did solve the problem. Even though the old one worked on the bench when I tested it, it no longer works now. I don't know what happened between then and now, but a new motor solved the issue.
