Default LIM replacement parts

Where is the best place to get the LIM/UIM replacement parts for a 98 Grand Prix GT? My brother'* car is near or over 100k and I want to do this before he destroys the car completely (PVC unglued wiggling, snake Almost FWI intake and autozone stobe kit x 10 for the lose.)

I know I want the aluminum gasket, but what else should be replaced at the same time?

Thanks

I'd say you should get them the same place we get ours. APN for the UIM replacement kit, and the dealership for the aluminum-framed LIM gaskets.

Here'* the link to the Automotive Parts Network (APN) sleeved UIM intake kit:

I was part of an APN/aluminum gasket replacment on a GP (not sure if it was a '98 though) not too long ago (here in AZ). Best way to go, IMHO.

If the GP has a plastic coolant elbow, make sure it is in top shape...if not, you may want to consider replacing that as well, as long as you're in there.

Geoff... I'd probably call Intense for the gaskets. On the coolant elbow, either Pep boys or Autozone will have them in the help section. Employees won't know about it though.

From the famous TECHINFO article:

95-03 Upper Intake Failure Information

GM Aluminum Frame Lower Intake Manifold Gasket set: GM PN# 89017816
GM Coolant Bypass Elbow: PN# 24503423
Dorman “help” replacement cooling elbows with o-rings (include two elbows for 99-05 models)
Note that the last digit of the aluminum gasket P/N sometimes varies by one or so, depending one what'* in the system at the time.

Say Geoff, have you ever really been on BC??? :? J/K
