Ignition lock cylinder
Hi my ignition lock cylinder on my Pontiac bonneville 99 model needed replaced it'* a chip key. It was replaced and it was not for a chip key so my question is this will I have to remove it put a chip lock in it or can I get key made for it with chip because the guy mentioned he can order one at dealership so I'm curious before I try taking it out it out
Yeah, what carfixer007 said ^^^^^^^
Whoever replaced it with the wrong unit should not have done that.
I've heard of people getting into the steering column and dash and soldering the correct resistor into the chip key circuit and using normal keys, but that'* going to ba a lot more complicated than just getting the right lock cylinder.
