HELP I WANT TO TURN MY BONNEVILLE INTO A SLEEPER
An easier path: get a 1996-1999 LeSabre, swap an L67+accompanying transaxle into it along with a flash for a same-year Bonneville SSEI. There'* a sleeper. Especially if it is a 1996. Do all that engine and transaxle work we discussed above and it would be even more so.

a-body.net, guy built his lesabre t-type with a torque cam, shaved and ported the heads for more compression, ported the rear exhaust header and tuned it for more hp and mpg. Sometimes less is more, keep up posted.
Could be fun, but still I'd recommend answering my "Do you have" questions first. One question I forgot to include: Does your region allow this? As in let'* say for example you are in California. You can't replace an engine with an engine of larger displacement or older manufacture year than the original engine without blueprinting and jumping through other hoops. Some other states/cities/etc. have adopted similar.

So I put some research into the engine that most people recomended. (L67 series 2) the in the comments above Does this still make this a sleeper if I use high preformence parts on it? Any tips, tricks,or anything else that many of you helpful people can tell me before I start the project thanks-David

Watch this, as I believe it encompasses the sleeper mentality fully:

An L67 bone stock or with minor mods makes late `90'* GP GTP'* or a Regal GS'* pretty fast:
Your Bonneville weighs about the same.
A "sleeper" is a normal-looking car with exceptional and/or surprisingly good performance:

. . . so yes make it go as fast as you want while keeping its looks and you have a sleeper.
