Default '97 Grand Prix 3100 rocker arm bolt torque

I put lifters in my "97 Grand Prix 3100. Torque for the rocker arm bolts is:89 in.lbs., plus 30 degrees. Can anyone give me an example of how they went about adding the 30 degrees?

GM actually revised that spec in 2002, it should be 124 lb-in + 30*.

Think of it this way. When you torqued it to spec, say your on 0... Got 30 more degrees

To get it right you will need one of these.

Or you can look in to reusable rocker bolts.

You are supposed to use a torque angle wrench or something like that, but just do what I did... visualize a 30* angle!

That includes my '97 G.P.? Where would I find these revisions?

they were published in a TSB... i'm not sure where, but i have seen a few places online that post them for free, and it applies to at least all of the small port 3x00 motors.

Hey you guys...............Thanks, Got the rocker arms torqued down to the revised specs thanks to Robert Isaar (LizziesPoolBoy), and the 30 degrees I needed, I made a copy of the chart ADDICTED TO EATEN sent to me. Good to go. Thanks again, Theo
