Just send me the money, then I'll tell you what happens. Nothing. That is a spun bearing you have.

Wanna see what happens when it really goes? Look at my video.

I posted on craiglist and I did mention the knock problem, someone offered $800 cash. Should I just take it?

That'* what I bought my 97 for on Craigslist. Same problem too. I just turned around and pulled the engine out of my 95 and swapped it.

$800 seems fair. How much did you buy it for?

I bought it for 1350

Now remember engine sounded like a beauty when I bought it just 4 days ago.

Interior is awesome condition, paint good condition, everything else works perfectly.

Hate to ask but, how much romping have you done to her during those 4 days?

I have honestly only driven it back and forth from school which is only about 5 miles away. I have never even exceeded 3k RPM on it because I knew it was old and I was afraid of damaging engine. I have a light foot and I never stepped on pedal hard.

Only once did I really throttle the engine yesterday when i was on freeway driving over 90mph. But only for a few minutes.

Starting to think this has something to do with heavy downpour we had the day before. I drove about 26 miles through heavy rain but engine was running fine. It was the next day during the freeway incident is when problem started to happen.

If your lucky, this is the worst you find. Early bearing failure. I drove about 2 miles on it.

If you drove in water 2ft deep and sucked it in, then you would hydrolock it. But, even that wouldn't cause a spun bearing. I'm just wondering if this started right before the guy sold it to you.

I really do believe him when he says he never heard the knock before. Because if the knock was there how was he able to cover it up?
