Definitely. There is still a mindset that today'* engine is often yesterday'* engine done better. Rightfully so in many cases.

Slightly related: Just saw the TFLTruck guys do a comparison between an 3.5 Ecoboost and a 5.0 Coyote towing up to 11,000 feet etc. and one of the guys noted how the 5.0 is the reliable old 302 and it'* been a great engine for decades etc. while it is a totally different engine, and ironically was redesigned from 302 to 307 CID starting in 2018. Interesting how some misconceptions get started and survive.
