2008 Pontiac Torrent GXP no start

My 2008 Pontiac Torrent Gxp wont start after I replaced the battery. my local mechanic cant figure it out. Please help

what did he check, thats pretty open ended. there are alot of things involved with starting. does the starter move?

As a mechanic, his job is to figure it out.
I'd be looking for a different mechanic, but that'* just me.
