Default 2006 grand prix shows "theft system not programmed"

2006 grand prix 3800 series 3
My grand prix shows this on display.I'm assuming the only way to reprogram is with a tech2.any other ways of resetting? Car runs and drives just as it should.no problems starting

I bought it with this issue.everything else seems to work as it should.check engine light isn't even on.it doesn't bother me but when I go to sell I feel it will deter people

It may be that this message is related to the DIC (digital info center) requiring programming by you.
Refer to your owners manual, or download an owners manual & have a peak.
I think that light can be somehow be cleared by using the reset button.
Further information will be in the manual, which may prove to be helpful.

It'* possible that a module was replaced by the previous owner and that it wasn't properly programmed .........
